Do Class C Misdemeanors in Texas get reported on a Criminal Background Check?
A few years ago, I plead guilty to two Class C misdemeanors for being drunk. I read on a website that Texas state law only requires only violations worse than Class C misdemeanors to be reported to the state. Would those show up on a background check even though they’re not reported to the state?
In response to mhmd, I got cited for public intoxication and urinating in a public place. It was in municipal court.

It depends on a number of things.
1 – Who is doing the background check? If a Criminal Justice agency it won’t matter, because they’ll find it. If an online database, maybe not.
2 – What court convicted you? Municipal or JP/County? If JP or County, the online database people are more likely to pick it up.
3 – Was it a disorderly conduct charge? Offenses under title 9 of the PC may still be reported even if C Misdemeanor. That’s how you get barred from getting a CHL even for a C Misdemeanor Disorderly Conduct.

It really is a crap shoot. The question you need to be asking is how will these misdemeanors effect what ever the background check is for if they do find them.
Hell, Ive had a PI and an MIC and have passed several FBI background checks

It can. It depends on how in depth the search is. The general rule is if the right steps are taken to find it, then yes it can show up. To view different types of criminal record searches see: http://www. efindoutthetruth. com/criminal_records_comparison_chart. htm

From experience yes it does show up. It is better not to lie about it because when you lie and they find it they will definitely not hire you.
